Win, lose or draw, sports fans around the world are tough on washrooms. Not just because of the damage caused by vandalism, but also because they present an operational maintenance challenge by their pattern of usage.     Demand peaks   prior to, after games and   during   intervals.   Between matches the washrooms will be lightly used, if at all. In addition, their Chief Engineer estimated that servicing took 1-1.5 hours per urinal, per annum. This was partly due to the high calcium content of the water, which created a residue on the flush valve gaskets, eventually causing them to crack and leak. Each time this occurred, it cost the stadium about £50 to service.
The installation of 220 Falcon Waterfree urinals eliminated these problems, with the servicing of each urinal now taking just a few minutes per year. The change also saw a £15,000 reduction in maintenance costs through the elimination of flushing valves and costs associated with clogged urinals and flooded washrooms.
